"Pedro el Poeta is an award-winning Hip-Hop/Spoken Word/Freestyle artist, activist, a proud father of two, a teacher, and an Eckerd College graduate with a B.A. in Creative Writing. Since moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 2001, he has racked up a long list of accomplishments, including: Getting named 2014 Tampa Bay Artist of the Year at the 2014 Tampa Bay Regional Talkie Awards; Being an honorary speaker at TEDx Tampa Bay 2011; Featuring music on the soundtrack of the award-winning full-length film, "Southsyde;" Performing the entire soundtrack of the internationally acclaimed, award-winning short film, "Torn Asunder;"

He has also produced five albums, including "Bigger Than This," and the very successful “Street Reporter EP,” both of which were executive produced by multi-platinum producer, Lance Quinn (Bon Jovi, Talking Heads, etc.).
